Things to Buy in November For Maximum Savings

I can’t believe that we are approaching Fall already. All things pumpkin spice, baked goods, and orange and burgundy colored decorations. I wanted to share some items that go on sale in November that are worth stocking up on to save money throughout the year. You can store these items in your freezer or pantry, and use for the next few months. Take a look at the list below, and start making a list of items you want for your pantry and freezer.

With the deals below, make sure if you use cashback apps like Ibotta or Checkout51 that you check for cash back offers on any items you are buying. It is a great way to really lower the price even more. You will also want to check for online coupons and coupons in your Sunday papers.

Halloween Items

At the first part of November, you will see Halloween candy and decorations go on sale. I love buying candy and tossing it in the freezer for treats throughout the year, or I cut up the candy and toss into brownies, top ice cream with, etc. It is a great way to buy discounted candy and use it. Who cares if the chocolate is in the shape of a pumpkin?

Baking Supplies

Flour, Powdered Sugar, Granulated Sugar, Brown Sugar, etc

These all can be marked down pretty low for the holidays. Keep a close eye on your sales ads for the stores you shop at. I have seen them hit close to the dollar mark in years past.

Cookies, Brownies, and Cake Mixes

These are great things to buy in November as they have a good shelf life. You can use them for quick desserts like dump cakes, chop up candy and toss into your brownies for added flavor. There are also many recipes that use pre-boxed mixes. You can find these for under a dollar generally when the sale hits.

Evaporated and Condensed Milk

These have a wonderful shelf life and are great to have on hand for your baking needs.

Butter

You can stock up on butter and freeze it! I love doing this as it can last in the freezer for around 6 months, and it saves you from paying full price.

Baking Chips

Stock up on your chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch, and any other chip you love. Toss these in the freezer to maximize shelf life.

Nuts and Dried Fruit

If you love having nuts to toss in banana bread or other recipes, buy these when marked down and toss in the freezer. They will keep their crunch and flavor perfectly. Now if they are covered in a dusting that might affect their quality, I have only used it on plain nuts or covered in chocolate.

Canned Pumpkin

If you love pumpkin, now is the time to buy! You can get them for under a dollar, and they have a great shelf life. Make soups, muffins, cakes, and more all year round.

Marshmallows

These are great to buy when on sale and then freeze. They thaw beautifully and taste just as soft as the day you bought them.
