There are many products that we put on our body in order to keep up with our general cleanliness. For many of us, deodorant is something that we apply on a daily basis. It helps conceal and remove bodily odors and prevent over-perspiration.

When I think of products that I put on my body on a regular basis, I like to think about the actual ingredients that go into them. Unfortunately, many deodorant brands contain high levels of chemicals that are not-so great for your health. For awhile now, I have been very picky about the brands that I purchase but it occurred to me: why not just make my own homemade deodorant?

Learning How to Make Deodorant at Home

After doing some research, I quickly learned that baking soda and cornstarch are the prime ingredients in any type of homemade deodorant. I did not want to go for anything too complicated, so I decided that making an actual ‘deodorant stick’ was off my list. I opted more for a deodorant paste that would smell pleasant and would be easy to apply.

Today, I am happy to share with you my take on the Easiest Homemade Deodorant. Ever.

Process

In a bowl, mix all of your ingredients until a well-combined paste is formed. Put in a jar that seals well and leave out in room-temperature (you don’t want the coconut oil to melt!). Apply on underarms daily (you may use a popsicle stick for easier application).

What I love about this DIY is that I already had all of the ingredients in my pantry. There was no need to head out to the store to purchase extra supplies. Also, because it’s so potent, it’s effectiveness is quite impressive. I don’t need to use a lot for it to actually work. My first batch has already lasted me a few weeks.

You can choose to use any other essential oil. I chose lavender not only for its soothing smell but also because it boasts high antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Many people also like using tea tree oil for their homemade deodorants.
