Have you ever been at a restaurant and had a really good soup and then wonder why you don’t have soup more often at home?

And then when you get home and think about it later, you realize that making soup is just like any other recipe…lots of ingredients, prep time, and cooking time.

GIVEAWAY:  We are giving away a $50 Walmart gift card provided by our sponsor. Simply comment on this Facebook post (click here) with your favorite soup…and an extra entry if you tell us if you have tried Great Value’s new frozen soups and mac & cheese.

The good news is that Walmart just released a series of Great Value restaurant-quality soups and gourmet macaroni and cheese in the freezer section that cut out the WORK of having an awesome soup at home.

Yep, I said Walmart!

You are going to be shopping there anyway, you might as well head over to the frozen food section and pick one {or two} {or three} {or four…} of them up!

They are really easy to make. We tried the Great Value Broccoli and Cheese Soup with Garlic Cheese Croutons and the Great Value Tomato Basil Soup with Herb Seasoned Croutons.

There are four different ways you can cook them:  microwave, stock pot, stove top or slow cooker.

We chose the stock pot method and popped the bag into water on the stove for the Great Value Tomato Basil Soup which is a blend of pureed ripe pear tomatoes, fresh whole milk, sautéed garlic and onions in butter with basil. To top it off was a packet of crunchy garlic croutons.

Super easy!

If it is frozen, it takes 35 minutes or thawed, 10 minutes.

Then you wait for 3 minutes and serve.

We made some crispy-edged grilled cheese sandwiches (just sprinkle parmesan cheese on top of the butter spread on the outside of each slice of bread and brown) and had a completely delicious meal.

The next one we tried was the Great Value Broccoli and Cheese Soup. This soup uses chef quality broccoli florets and carrots blended with whole milk, cheese and select seasonings in a velvety cheddar cheese sauce. The cheddar cheese croutons top off the flavor.

We {again} cooked it using the stock pot method and paired it with a Caesar salad and grape juice.

This soup was so yummy!

Both the soups we tried were really good. They are easy to make and easy to pair with simple family favorites.

The other options that we will be trying soon include:
