Are you looking for the best bbq beef crock pot recipe? If so you came to the right place! I have finally found the perfect bbq beef made in your crock pot that is not only simple to make but uses basic ingredients that are probably already stashed in your pantry. Serve with buns to make sandwiches, or as a filler for a bbq style taco, either way, your family will be praising you for a job well done. What they don’t have to know is you just toss the ingredients in, set to low and let it cook all day long. The crock pot will do all the work for you.

I have seen crock pot bbq beef where you just put the roast in and cover it with bbq sauce and let it cook. I have actually tried these, and they never turn out that well. They lack flavor, and my family eats it, but no one ever raves about it. With this recipe, I add a few spices, and that helps bring out vibrant, bold flavors, and when you add the barbeque sauce in once, the roast is almost done it truly completes the dish.

What Type of Roast Can You Use In This BBQ Beef Crock Pot Recipe

The beauty of this is you can use any type of roast you want. Shoulder, chuck, or even grab a brisket and use that for this recipe. I look for a roast that has a nice marble to it, that helps you to know the white streaks throughout are fat, and that is what will help give your roast more flavors. I learned that years ago, and I have always remembered that for any cut of beef. I have also found that when even a steak has that marble look, it does add a lot more flavor as it cooks. So reach for any roast that is on sale or available and use it.

When you get to the end of the cooking period, and you go to shred your beef, you can pull off and discard any of the fat you find. That way the fat does the job of adding flavor as it cooks, but then toss it out when you go to eat it, so you don’t bite into it! Then serve up with your favorite side dishes, and you have a straightforward and delicious dish to serve your family and friends.

First, you want to add 1 cup of water into your crock pot.

Place your roast on top of the water, and then begin adding in all your seasonings. I pour them on top of the roast and then gently massage it into the meat.

Next, sprinkle the Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke on top of the roast. Set to low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

Shredded Slow Cooker BBQ Beef

About 30 minutes to 1 hour before you go to serve it, drain out all but about 1 cup of liquid. Pull out the roast and shred it. I used two forks, and it pulled apart easily. You can also skip the shredded part if you want to slice it.

Next, after you drain the liquid but maybe a cup, put the roast back into the crock pot, and pour in half the jar of barbecue sauce. Cover and continue cooking for the next hour.

Then serve and enjoy!

Slow Cooker BBQ Beef

As you can see this roast indeed is so easy to make, and I cook mine on low for 8 hours. I like my meat just to fall apart, and I find cooking on low all day works best for me. I have made homemade coleslaw and topped my bbq beef sandwich with it, and I have also used this meat for tacos with a slaw mixture. No matter how you decide to serve it your family will enjoy it. Bon appetite!
