And if citrus is more your scent, try this recipe.
DIY Coffee Garbage Disposal Cleaner
So in all my coffee drinking years I have made everything with the coffee grounds (like body scrub!), so this garbage disposal cleaner was a no-brainer. This week, I found myself with enough coffee grounds left to make it and the result, my friends, was awesome!
You’ll Need:
- 1 cup used coffee grounds
- 1/2 cup epsom salts
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Mix everything together in a small bowl until it forms a thick paste. Shape the mixture into balls, and place the pods on a sheet pan lined with wax paper. Allow the pods to dry overnight before placing in a jar or bag.
Isn’t it wonderful when you can make something using ingredients you already have in your pantry? This recipe works like a charm; I’m actually kind of surprised by how good it works and I’m really kicking myself for not trying it any sooner.
The coffee and cinnamon give it a great scent while the salt breaks up the hard water stains. The baking soda and vinegar react to help clean the garbage disposal.
It costs next to nothing to make, and the process is just as easy as throwing everything into a bowl and mixing until you have a thick paste. The vinegar kind of reacts with the baking soda so if you have kids they are going to love the little science experiment!
