DIY Car Air Freshener with Essential Oils
I love these things for several reasons:
First off, any car that regularly transports children could always stand to smell better, am I right? Something about the way kids drop food into unreachable crevices, leave soiled garments about, rest sweaty heads against seats and stomp muddy shoes everywhere just gives the car that kid-funk.
But the store-bought car air fresheners are over-priced and who even knows what’s in them! I don’t want my family inhaling those chemically-based artificial scents. No thanks!
Are kid-funk and the tree-shaped “New Car Scents” our only options? You already know the answer: NO! Certainly not. Let’s get natural and practical here and make our own DIY car air fresheners, shall we? Check the vid.
What you need:
- Clothespin
- Hot glue
- Giant pom-pom (learn to make one in sixty seconds here!)
- 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil (lavender, citrus, peppermint, whatever you like!)
Let’s break it down:
Take a clothespin and hot glue your pom-pom to one side.
Apply 5-10 drops of essential oil all over the pom-pom.
Clip to air vent, crank up the a/c, and enjoy the amazing smell.
Whenever the fresh scents cease, just add 5-10 more drops!
Easy-peasy, huh? Even the kids could help make these! And maybe YOU only need one or two, but I’ll bet there are several drivers in your life who would love to be gifted one of these!
Bottom line, friends, don’t go on one more drive smelling the kid-funk. Freshen up your driving experience in no time flat with stuff you have around the house anyway. You won’t regret it. And any car guests you have will thank you for it!
