Hiking Gear for Your Next Outdoor Adventures
When it comes to hiking, be prepared for all the elements of nature and terrain with these hiking gear options!
1. Compass
Yes, people still use compasses. If you are out hiking in the woods and your directions get confused, you may find that your adventure could get extended by quite some time! Instead, pack a compass to help guide you. It’s small enough to carry without being a burden and you’ll be so happy to have it if you need it.
2. Sleeping Bag
Find one that is light and easy to carry. When hiking, you never know when you may need to camp up for the night! Why not have a sleeping bag handy if that happens?
3. Camping Planner
The worst thing is forgetting something. Promise. Been there. Done that. One trip we literally forgot the toilet paper!! Never again! The $7 spent on the Camping planner is well worth it!! Your sanity is worth it!!
4. Hydration Pack
Water is everything when you are hiking in the woods. Why take the chance of packing a small bottle of water when you know that you’re going to need more than that? Hydration packs make it super simple to have a nice padded pack that you can have full of water, plus have a few extra storage compartments for other items as well. Packing enough water for yourself is essential!
5. Backpack
There are so many other little items that you’ll need on your hiking adventure that a good backpack is a necessity! Pick one that fits you and your body shape well and is easy on your back. One with lots of shoulder padding is always great, and having straps to put around your stomach is good, too. The more support that you can have to help carry your items, the better.
6. Bug Spray and Sunscreen
Do not leave home without these items! Bugs love to snack on hikers! It’s the truth, and you’ll soon find that out as you are walking down the trail is their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Spray yourself to stay bite free. And just as important, don’t forget the sunscreen. Being out in the sun and hiking for hours means that you stand a pretty strong chance of getting sunburnt. Don’t do that to yourself and just put on the sunscreen from the beginning.
7. Flashlight
It’s always a good idea to pack a flashlight in case your hike leads you somewhere late into the night. You need to be able to see where you are going, right? Flashlights also come in super handy if you are unsure about an area and need to get a closer peek inside.
