Are you exhausted? Do you have a hard time unwinding? Is it difficult to push through that mid-point in the day? I feel you, sister.

Let’s face it, we moms lead busy, draining and often stressful lives. We are constantly meeting the needs of others, and we often have a hard time unwinding from the toils of the day and then waking up to the work of the next day. It’s hard to find a minute for ourselves, but when we do, we need to take that time to relax, calm down and take a breath.

And when we do finally take that breath, it had better be a good breath! A breath that smells amazing. A breath that is comforting and healing; a breath that is centering. One that quiets our minds and stills our spirits. One that creates feelings of peace amidst the chaos; rest amidst the labor.

(By the way, if you’re a night person who has a hard time with mornings like me, here are some great tips just for you, I mean, us!)

What could possibly smell that way? I’m so glad you asked. For me, nothing quiets my mind and makes me feel as peaceful as an oil blend of lavender and bergamot oils. I inhale it and I feel re-centered, relaxed, and ready to press on in the journey of motherhood!

Room spray made with essential oils!

What do I reach for when I’m not ready to sleep just yet and could use a burst of energy to get me through a slump in the day? (Hint: it’s BETTER than coffee!) It’s the fresh and zesty scents of essential oil blend Burst! I so enjoy the energizing blend of fresh grapefruit, tangerine, lime, and the exotic Mediterranean bergamot fruit. It helps me to feel refreshed, revitalized and, once again, all the more ready to press on with my work as a mother.

So how to we make this wonder-spray?

What you’ll need:

  • Small jar with lid
  • A funnel
  • Spray bottle (I prefer glass, but you can use anything that is properly cleaned out well)

How to do it:

  • Using the funnel in the jar, combine the witch hazel and essential oil of your choice.
  • Shake well–for roughly 30 seconds or so.
  • Open up the jar and add the water.
  • Shake well again.
  • Using the funnel, pour into the spray bottle.
  • Spritz and enjoy!

Wasn’t that easy? I love using my Essential Oil “Burst” in room sprays which can be spritzed on carpet, couches, linens, car seats, and curtains. The fresh scent smells wonderful anywhere! My favorite place for the Oil blend “Unwind” is to spray it right on my pillow! And my favorite way to use the Burst is to just spray it right in front of me and walk into the mist while taking a deep breath. Ahhhh, how did I ever do motherhood without this glorious room spray?
