Halloween is BIG in our house. Really big. From the costumes to the decorations to the games to the food…we tend to go all out and have a blast doing it every year!

Do you have your decorations up or your Halloween costume planned out yet? Would you be surprised if I said we already did?

Halloween is one of my most favorite times of the year! Not only does it mean that I get to have some of my kid’s candy (no judgment – we call it the “Parent Tax”), but it also means that I have an excuse to make up some fun and funky food in the kitchen as well.

While it might be normal in some households to make up eyeball foods and spider treats throughout the year (more fun for them!), our household usually only participates in this during the month of October. What we lose out on during the rest of the year, we more than make up for in those few weeks!

If you’re as excited as I am about getting ready for Halloween, here are some awesome Halloween snacks that your kids are going to absolutely love.

Spooky Good Sweet Halloween Snacks for Kids

Halloween is so much fun, why relegate all the fun to costumes? It’s time to have some spooky (and cute) fun with some food snacks!

You’re going to love these sweet ideas for Halloween snacks.

Popcorn Pumpkin | Hodgepodge Hippie

Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cups | I Can Teach My Child

Oreo and pudding dirt is my favorite kind of dirt – in fact, the first time I saw Oreo “dirt” I couldn’t believe it was actually Oreo cookies! Whip up your own “dirt” dessert with a Halloween theme by making these adorable Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cups.

Halloween Sugar Cookie Cake | Lil’ Luna

What’s more fun than a cookie cake? Nothing! What’s more, is you can make this with super fun and festive Halloween colors to make it even better (as if it really needed that!).

Make a Halloween sugar cookie cake for your next gathering of family or friends because it feeds a crowd.

Halloween Muddy Buddy Mix | Boys Ahoy

Bowl of Halloween muddy buddies

Put a Halloween spin on the classic muddy buddies recipe by adding candy corn and Reese’s pieces. You’ll get the fun colors and flavors in one bite. I dare you…I bet you can’t stop at just one handful, though!

Halloween Donuts | Hodgepodge Hippie

Homemade Halloween donuts

In our house, we love to eat donuts at any time of the day. We don’t need an excuse to eat them. However, if we did, these Halloween donuts would be perfect.

Plus, they’re so much fun to make and even more fun to eat!

Harvest Caramel Corn | Two Sisters Crafting

Bowl of harvest caramel corn

Doesn’t this harvest caramel corn look divine? What’s better than creamy caramel, salty popcorn, and sweet chocolate mixed together? Not much that I can think of but, it just might be my obsession with Rolos that seals the deal for me.

And to be honest, I’d probably be picking out all the Rolos and M&M’s and eating those first.

Caramel Apple Slices | Domestically Blissful

Candy apples are yummy but kind of a pain – and so messy! Instead of candy apples, try caramel apple slices on a stick.

You get more sweetness per square inch of apple, plus they are so much easier to make and eat, and really, who doesn’t love that?

Oreo Bats | Hodgepodge Hippie

Adorable Oreo Bats Halloween snacks

Who says that bats have to be spooky? These Oreo bats are just too darn cute to pass up! Plus, they’re super simple for kids to make as well, but one thing’s for sure: your kids will go “batty” for these Oreo Bats.

Eyeball Tacos | Life Family and Fun

You just might never look at tacos ever again once you make up a batch of these eyeball tacos (I know I won’t!). It’s a very creative idea with almost effortless follow-through since the work is already done by making tacos!

Who knew that black olives could play such a dual role? 😉

Here’s a classic that we’ve been making for years – it makes the perfect dinner before going trick-or-treating. One bite, and you’ll forget that the night is about to be full of tricks and treats.

See what I mean? These Halloween snacks recipes are seriously just the cutest, but they’re also filling and delicious. I just might start making them a little bit earlier this year so we can enjoy them longer because I’m so pumped and excited for Halloween.

If you do this together and create these recipes throughout the year, we can enjoy delicious Halloween snacks whenever we want! (We should do the same with Christmas treats, too!)
